Sickle Cell Support Society of Nigeria to host 5th Global Congress on Sickle Cell Disease in 2025

The Global Sickle Cell Disease Network (GSCDN) is immensely pleased to announce that the 5th Global Congress on Sickle Cell Disease (“Congress”) will take place in Abuja, Nigeria from June 3 to 6, 2025.

The Sickle Cell Support Society of Nigeria (SCSSN) will host the Congress in partnership with GSCDN, local sickle cell disease (SCD) organizations and industry partners.

Established in July 2010 at the 1st Global Congress on SCD in Accra, Ghana, the SCSSN is a charitable, non-profit organization that has more than 30 collaborating centres across six regions of Nigeria. SCSSN consists of clinicians, researchers, scientists, healthcare workers, patients and a broad constituency with an interest in SCD across Nigeria.

We look forward to holding the next Congress in Abuja in 2025 and to once again bringing together the global sickle cell community to exchange up-to-date information about progress made in SCD diagnosis treatment, research, education, advocacy, and policy.

Stay tuned for more information about the Congress.

Kind Regards,

Global Sickle Cell Disease Network
